“I drink your milkshake!” Daniel Day Lewis spits out these words in the final scene of the Academy Award-winning movie “There Will Be Blood,” and the next thing you know a new bit of internet slang–and a thousand YouTube parodies–are born.
Online, it may seem like the words are on everyone’s lips–or at least their laptops–but apparently the phenomena hasn’t yet translated offline. When Saturday Night Live tried to poke fun at the phrase, their joke fell flat, lost on an audience that evidently doesn’t spend much time trading insults in MySpace.
That points to what some see as an ever-widening gap between people who watch TV and people who get all the news they need from the weather reports in Cyberspace. Advertisers are watching this gap with interest and many have stopped throwing great gobs of money at television, choosing instead to spread some of their advertising budgets around Blogsville. This is good news for paid bloggers who no longer have to hunt for ads to monetize their sites. Those who can attract avid readers are finding that the advertising dollars come looking for them. Clearly it’s time for people who still think television is the primary media to wake up and smell the milkshake.

Your graphic is so reminiscent of the wildly popular “icanhascheezburger?” and LOLcats websites — my two faves! I haven’t seen the movie, so I can’t begin to imagine how this sentence fits into the dialog or the story!
“I drink your milkshake.” (As if it weren’t obvious.)
Sorry, Bonnie, but I CANNOT pass up this opportunity to remind people how devastating diary products are to humans. In fact, after being pasteurized and homogenized, even calves will quickly die from consuming them …
I LOVE shakes, and enjoy a delicious, raw, milk-LESS chocolate shake at least once every day in place of less-nutritious meals. I encourage people to learn about the amazing nutritional benefits of RAW chocolate and the delicious, wholesome ingredients of my CACAo MACA shake that is made with raisins, goji berries, raw cacao (chocolate) powder, coconut oil, coconut ‘meat,’ banana, SPINACH and ice. You can see the delightful blend happening on YouTube at

except please note that I now add 5 oz. of raw spinach leaves, kale or parsley and a banana to what I made that time.
It is absolutely RAWSOME, delicious, and will benefit your body rather than clobber you with acid and sugar like a MILKshake does.
As for the fries … well, I’ll wait for another blog comment, perhaps ;o)
